LITTLE ORTHODONTICS “SMILE IDOL” CONTEST
Official Rules and Regulations
- Little Orthodontics “Smile Idol” Contest is open to entries from all current and former patients of Little Orthodontics. This includes patients in retention, active treatment and recall. Entries are not accepted from children of current employees or employees of Little Orthodontics. Contest is open to all ages.
- All entries will be accepted during the period of approximately February 16, 2010 to April 16, 2010. Voting will take place from approximately May 1, 2010 to May 25, 2010. The reign of the Smile Idol winner will be approximately June 1, 2010 through May1, 2011. Precise dates of the submissions and contest will be determined at the discretion of Little Orthodontics.
- Dates, deadlines, contest rules, prescribed e-mail addresses and promotional information will be announced by Little Orthodontics using website, mass e-mail, mailings, television broadcasting and such other means as may be designated. All communication from Little Orthodontics is deemed to be official and final.
- All entries will be accepted from authorized entrants (Section 1) during the prescribed dates (Section 2) exclusively by uploading the data to the prescribed website address (Section 3). Entries will be in a “jpeg” compatible format and will be accompanied by (a) the person’s name, (b) the person’s date of birth and (c) a valid e-mail address. Online submission is the only valid method of entry.
- All entries become the property of Little Orthodontics and cannot be returned. All data transmitted with the entry is protected by the Privacy Policy of Little Orthodontics and the Federal regulations of HIPPA.
- All “jpeg” entries will be cropped to show primarily the face, smile and hair. The photos will be resized to a “portrait” view. These photos will be presented to the panel of judges without personal information and identified only by numerical identification numbers. Little Orthodontics will be solely responsible for the execution or delegation of this process. Little Orthodontics reserves the right to refuse any entry that does not conform to contest standards.
- All entries shall be designed to present primarily the face and smile of the individual. Judges are instructed to choose finalists from among those submitted based on appearance, smile and attractiveness. They are further instructed to attempt to maintain as much balance and equity as possible within their selections based on gender, age and ethnicity. From the total number of entries, the independent panel of judges will select 10 finalists to be presented for public voting. All decisions of the judges will be final and without appeal.
- Finalists will be notified by e-mail of their selection. Acceptance is indicated verbally and by the taking of a single portrait smiling “headshot” at Little Orthodontics.
- These photos will be posted on the website of Little Orthodontics on one single page. They will be presented in an array of identical photos of similar appearance, cropping and lighting. They will be displayed in alphabetical order and be identified only by first name (and initial of last name when necessary) and a contestant number.
- Online voting will commence on the designated date (Section 2) at www.biggestlittlesmiles.com. Anyone may vote and finalists are encouraged to tell their family and friends how to find the site, locate their picture and vote. The ballot is simple and complete. Voting requires the name of the individual(s) and the number of the contestant you are voting for in one designated slot and a valid e-mail in the other slot. Those voting will be advised of the receipt of their votes. Only one vote per person per valid e-mail address. Anyone may vote for more than one candidate.
- Vote submissions will be closely monitored and screened for validity. Those voting must be the owners of the e-mail address used! Any fraudulent activity or abuse may result in disqualification of the vote and possibly the Finalist.
- Voting will terminate on Monday, May 25, 2010. The voting is closed at 5:00 PST on that Monday and no other votes will be tallied that may be received after that time and date. The 2010-2011 “Smile Idol” Winner will be announced
- All photography may be used in marketing and media productions of Little Orthodontics during the period of June 1, 2010 and May 1, 2011 of that calendar year. These photos may be used in the website, direct mail products, posters, billboards, television and any other media outlet designated by Little Orthodontics.
- The Finalists should understand that, although they will represent Little Orthodontics in print and other media, there are no guarantees that they will appear in any particular (or all) of Little Orthodontics marketing venues.
- The final winner of Little Orthodontics “Smile Idol” contest will serve for one full year and will serve completely at the pleasure of Little Orthodontics. Little Orthodontics reserves the full right to disqualify any “Smile Idol” Contest entrant at any time during the contest period, or to replace any contest winner with an alternate at any time during the annual marketing period, if such entrant or winner commits any act or does anything that indicates dishonesty or moral turpitude or that otherwise might tend to reflect unfavorably on Little Orthodontics, LLC or the “Smile Idol” Contest.
- Individuals chosen for the 10 Finalists of the contest may reenter the contest in subsequent years. The final “Smile Idol” winner may not enter the contest again at any time.
- Prizes are as follows: 1st Place Winner-$400.00 cash, 2nd Place Winner-$100.00 cash, 3rd through 10th Place Winners will receive $50.00 each.
