First Appointment
Once you have made your first appointment, you will receive a health history questionnaire in the mail. Please complete the questionnaire and bring it with you to your appointment.

When you arrive, Dr. Little and our treatment coordinator will personally review your medical and dental history, establish the need for orthodontic care and discuss your orthodontic treatment goals. Dr. Little will carefully examine your teeth, jaws and facial profile to determine the best time to begin orthodontic treatment. If additional dental maturity is needed, we will monitor growth in our recall program.

If treatment is indicated, Dr. Little will recommend taking diagnostic records. Diagnostic records consist of plaster models of the teeth and an orthodontic x-ray. We have scheduled time after the examination for the records. As a courtesy to our patients, there is no fee for the initial exam and the diagnostic records appointment. We request that, if possible, both parents or spouse be present for this appointment so options regarding treatment decisions can be made. Please plan to spend an hour and fifteen minutes with us at this first visit.

Communication is a key component at this stage. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. When you leave Dr. Little's office you will have answers to these five questions:

  Is there an orthodontic problem?

When is the best time for treatment?

  How long will treatment take?

  What are the costs involved?

  What financial arrangements are available?

Financial
Orthodontic treatment is an excellent investment in the overall dental, medical and psychological well being of children and adults. However, financial considerations should not be an obstacle to obtaining this important health service. Being sensitive to the fact that different people have different needs in fulfilling their financial obligations, we provide a variety of payment options. On your first visit, if orthodontic treatment is necessary, our treatment coordinator will help design a payment method suitable to your needs. We accept Visa, Master Card, personal checks and cash.

Chase Health Advance

Insurance
As a courtesy to our patients, we verify and bill insurance companies directly. Please bring all insurance information to your first visit. If benefits change or discontinue, the outstanding balance is then your obligation.
